- I have 2 Courier Dual Standard V.34+ modems (yes, there _IS_ a
- difference between the V.Everything and Dual Standard, some people aren't
- aware of this. The Dual Standard has the proprietary HST and Cellular
- capabilities.
- After flashing from the 7/5/95 firmware (the one that came with
- the modem) to the 11/5/95 the ati info screens no longer said "Dual
- Standard" which they used to. Several things also broke. There is no
- longer an &F3 template (one that set it up for HST Cellular mode), there
- is no longer an &L3 option (enables Cellular operation), and also the %T
- DTMF decoding doesn't work (it used to work just fine). HST still works
- though and it is listed on the ati7 as one of the supported protocols (see
- below).
- At first I thought there may have been separate flashes for the
- V.Everything and Dual Standard. However if I flash back to the 7/5/95
- flash from the ftp site that is not specifically labeled for the Dual
- Standard it again says "Dual Standard" on the info screen and all the
- above mentioned features work again.
- Are the new V.Everythings (non-Dual Standard) supporting HST
- now? Why is the 11/5/95 flash so broken in the areas mentioned? It
- seems strange that no one else has noticed/mentioned this yet.
